The Mewbourne College of Earth and Energy has received more than $1.8 million in software from Petroleum Experts (Petex).  Petex is a leading provider of petroleum engineering software tools that enables the oil and gas industry to model dynamically their oil reservoirs, production and injection wells and surface pipeline networks as an integrated production system. The company is recognized across the international oil and gas industry as the technical market leader within its area of expertise and has been ranked number one in all technical evaluations across the industry for more than eight years.

“We are very pleased that Petex has provided this leading-edge technology to the Mewbourne College of Earth and Energy and the University of Oklahoma. This gift supports both faculty and students, and in particular gives us the capability to continue to provide a strong educational experience to our students and to prepare them for their future careers by exposing them to commercial data modeling and interpretation tools,” said Mewbourne College of Earth and Energy Dean Larry Grillot.

The Mewbourne College of Earth and Energy is proud of the partnerships established with industry, alumni and other friends of OU. Because of the generous gifts provided by our partners, our students are able to receive outstanding hands-on experience in the classrooms, the labs and in the field, and have access to state-of-the art equipment.
