Relationship building is at the core of belonging. To unlearn and learn the norms that regulate relationship building, the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion engages the OU community in training activities and experiences that stimulate reflection and action. Faculty and Staff Learning Series

This series involves national-level experts who design workshops specifically around a theme pertinent to the OU campus climate and to the needs of faculty and staff.

University-Wide Training

This online, self-paced training promotes a common vocabulary about diversity, equity and inclusion by reviewing unconscious bias, stereotyping and micro-aggressions in the workplace. Its interactive nature encourages reflection and practical application in the workplace and in the classroom.

The DEI training for students is stimulates reflection and action by addressing identity, unconscious bias and stereotyping in real-life situations. This student-centric learning experience is conveniently offered on a virtual platform.

Conferences

Health Equity and Social Justice

This conference explores topics intersecting the experience of patients from marginalized populations with social justice and equity through a patient-centric approach. Every year, new topics are discussed during the course of a week.

I.D.E.A. Symposium

The I.D.E.A. Symposium aims to create an environment that highlights inclusion, diversity, equity and accessibility (I.D.E.A.) on campus and in the community. Through workshops and presentations, we will analyze and explore the intersections of I.D.E.A. in higher education.
