Graduate Research Assistant

Hong Li

Hong Li is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Instructional Leadership and Academic Curriculum at the University of Oklahoma. Hong has a musicology background and a master's degree in piano performance which Hong received in Italy. Hong’s research focused on the effect of music influences young children’s brain function and investigate whether music can work as a coping strategy to reduce stress and improve teacher-child relations in the classroom in order to foster teacher and child well-being.

Fun fact: Hong started to teach young children piano when she was pursuing a bachelor's degree at a normal University. Like her aunt and grandmother who worked with young children for their career, Hong has a mission to become an early childhood educator-researcher.

Encouraging note: Early childhood teachers had a glorious mission to cultivate our little hearts and make them thrive. Every effort you made is a big contribution to the future. Happy Teacher Project will go along with you to accomplish your gorgeous mission.
