Weiyi (Emily) Cheng is a Ph.D. student at the University of Oklahoma, focusing on early childhood education. She holds a master's degree from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a bachelor's degree from the University of Vermont. With over 8 years of experience in the field, Weiyi has actively contributed as an early childhood education instructor at Xinlian College of Henan Normal University for more than 3 years. Her commitment lies in advancing early childhood education through a combination of practical experiences and theoretical knowledge. Focused on exploring educational solutions and implementing them in community-based settings, she aims to bridge the gap between research and practice in ECE, emphasizing diversity, equity, and inclusion within cultural contexts. She has developed innovative ECE methods and integrated them into the Chinese education system, emphasizing diverse learning needs. Weiyi's dedication to supporting pre-service and in-service teacher development is evident in her role in developing national curriculum materials and leading training sessions for teachers working with children aged 0-3 years. She emphasizes curriculum development and effective teaching strategies to enhance the quality of early childhood education.

Fun fact: Weiyi's father, an expert in early childhood vocational training, specialized in developing national training standards, curriculum, and providing certification for infant toddlers and caregiver training even before Weiyi was born. His expertise and dedication have greatly influenced Weiyi. Since as young as 3 years old, Weiyi's sole aspiration has been to follow her father's path and become a teacher in early childhood education. This dream has remained unwavering and continues to be her driving force to this day.

Encouraging Note: Every child deserves a champion, an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection, and insists that they become the best that they can possibly be.
