1. Do I have a clear thesis statement that includes my attitude or belief about my topic?
2. Does each paragraph have a topic sentence?
3. Is each topic sentence supported with facts or examples? Do my paragraphs have more than 1 or 2 sentences?
4. Is the plan of my essay obvious and logical? Do I have good reasons for putting my paragraphs in this particular order?
5. Are my maps and figures labeled? Did I refer readers to them by name ( See Fig. 1) in my essay?
6. Is there a citation ( ) in the essay for each of the
sources on my Works Cited page? Conversely, is each of the sources
on my Works Cited page cited in the essay?
