First-Year Student Mentoring Program
The First-Year Student Mentoring Program Outstanding Mentor recognizes outstanding faculty members for their contributions to students participating in the mentoring program and for promoting mentoring.
Award winners receive a one-time award of $500 and a framed certificate.
Criteria for Selection

Nomination Procedures
Initiation
University College will solicit nominations from participating students at the time the Program evaluations are administered.
Recommendations
Students participating in the First-Year Student Mentoring Program can nominate mentors.
Supporting Documentation
Nominations should include a paragraph listing why the student feels the faculty member should be chosen for this honor.
Selection Procedures
The Dean of the University College will assemble a selection committee to review the recommendations for the award. This selection committee will determine the final award recipient.
