Surgical style masks are required at both the Sarkeys and Murray Case Sells Swim Complex as campus policy states.
At Sarkeys, masks are required at all times even when exercising. Take it slow to allow your body to acclimate over a few weeks.
At Murray Case Sells Swim Complex, masks are to be worn to the water’s edge, but not while swimming.
See this video from the HSC about masking and exercise -- HSC
Before you arrive, please ensure you have submitted and received clearance to return to campus. Faculty/staff/students and other affiliates with an ou.edu email address and credentials, please complete the Online Form. For retirees, partner memberships, and others, please complete the Visitor/Vendor Reporting Form.
Basketball, racquetball, volleyball and similar sports are not permitted. Table tennis and badminton are permitted for singles and doubles, respectively. Most of the spaces used for these sports are being used for other functions. Fitness equipment has been moved to the basketball courts to promote social distancing. Fitness equipment has been spaced about 12’ apart to help accommodate for exercise-induced, heavy breathing as mentioned in the video link above. The racquetball rooms are mask-free, individual Recovery Rooms should someone overexert during exercise. Be patient as we are all adjusting to the new equipment locations.
The track will be open. Learn more about the track and COVID-19 at Youtube.
