Travis McElroy

Travis McElroy is a podcaster, actor and a three-time New York Times bestselling author known for The Adventure Zone and My Brother, My Brother and Me.

Travis was born in West Virginia, and attended the University of Oklahoma as a National Merit Scholar. He graduated from OU with a BFA in Acting, and then proceeded to have no idea what he was going to do with his life. At the age of 25, he began his podcast, My Brother, My Brother and Me (MBMBaM) with his real-life brothers, Justin and Griffin and began working as an actor/technical director at the Cincinnati Shakespeare Company. He also met his wife, Teresa. Altogether, a pretty good year. He worked at Cincy Shakes with notable roles like Laertes, Juliet’s Nurse, and Lucius Andronicus, and won an award for set design. After Cincy Shakes, Travis became a full-time podcaster with shows including Trends Like These, Shmanners, and, most notably, The Adventure Zone. 

MBMBaM was later adapted into a live-action television show through NBCUniversal’s comedy streaming channel, SeesoMBMBaM premiered as the #1 television show for sale on iTunes. Additionally, The Adventure Zone is coming to NBCUniversal’s Peacock streaming service as an animated series.  

The Adventure Zone, in cooperation with Twogether Studios, was adapted into a cooperative storytelling card game called The Adventure Zone: Bureau of Balance released late 2020. Learn more at theadventurezonegame.com

In 2018, the McElroys’ graphic novel adaptation of The Adventure ZoneHere There Be Gerblins became the first graphic novel to reach #1 on the New York Times Paperback Trade Fiction Best Sellers list. Book 2 in the series, The Adventure Zone: Murder on the Rockport Limited!, followed suit in 2019. Their third book, The Adventure Zone: Petals to the Metalreleased in July 2020 and, you guessed it, also was a #1 New York Times bestseller. Travis’s pop culture notoriety has earned him a role in the upcoming Trolls World Tour movie alongside Justin Timberlake, Anna Kendrick, and Jamie Dornan. He continues to record podcasts, and regularly sells out venues of over 3,000 when touring live productions across the US & UK. actor ed harris

Ed Harris, four-time Oscar nominee, Emmy Award nominee, and Golden Globe winner, began his distinguished career with the University of Oklahoma School of Drama. He went on to originate the role of "Eddy" in Sam Shepard's "Fool For Love" which won him the Obie Award for Outstanding Actor. He then went on to do such critically acclaimed films as "Apollo 13", "The Abyss", "The Truman Show", "Pollock", and "The Hours."

Laura Spencer, BFA '08, landed a role on "Dead of Night," a SAG film shooting in New Orleans, starring Brandon Routh (Superman). She plays Zoe, who is the "love interest" of one of the leads (Sam Huntington), a girl who is "a lot like my quirky side" with a twist." Laura is also appearing in a short film called "The Rounder Comes to Town." She teaches children's audition classes at The Actor Factory in Norman, OK. The studio is organized by local casting director Chris Freihofer.

iqbal theba, 1999 ou school of drama graduate

Iqbal Theba, BFA '99, has been in numerous television spots and has been constantly working in the industry since his graduation. He has been seen in widely recognized series such as "JAG", "Weeds", "Two and a Half Men", "Nip/Tuck", Community, and of course Principal Figgins in the award winning series Glee. Theba received a SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series for his work in "Glee" in 2010.

Norman Oklahoma native James Garner has a list of credits and triumphs that is nothing short of astounding. With two Emmy Awards and fourteen nominations, four Golden Globe Awards and eleven nominations, Garner has been showered with accolades for his dedication and talent in the world of drama. Garner has made several trips to visit with students at OU and has helped many to a brighter and better future with his experience and expert guidance.

Lou Antonio, OU graduate and three-time Emmy Award Nominee and the Outstanding Directorial Achievement Award winner, guest directed the Fall of 2009 production of A Piece of My Heart. His credits include many styles and genres. He has acted in many films including "Cool Hand Luke", and has acted in many television episodes including "I Dream of Jeanie" and "Gunsmoke". His directing credits include over seventy-seven television series, such as "The Rockford Files", "Dawson's Creek", "The West Wing" and "Boston Legal."
