Dr. Beth Sievers is currently the Director of the Sooner String Project at the University of Oklahoma. Each semester there are approximately 90 students (ages 4-18) in the program. Dr. Sievers oversees the program, acts as the master teacher, and trains college students to assist her with classes and private lessons.

Prior to coming to the University of Oklahoma in 1999, Dr. Sievers taught at various institutions across the country, including Wittenberg University, Cedarville College, the University of Dayton, Missouri Western State College, and Winthrop College. She has also taught at public and private schools in North Carolina, Ohio, and Oklahoma.

Dr. Sievers has been on the faculty of the Summer Music Clinic at Indiana University for the past 15 years. At IU she coaches violin sectionals, chamber groups, and also performs with the faculty string quartet and with other chamber groups.

Dr. Sievers' violin performance career has included tenure with several professional orchestras, including the Charlotte Symphony, Dayton Philharmonic, Cincinnati Ballet Orchestra, Richmond Symphony, the Indianapolis Symphony, and as concertmaster of the Lima Symphony.

Dr. Sievers has also toured nationally with acclaimed artists such as Mel Torme, Henry Mancini, Johnny Mathis, Bob Hope, Andy Williams, and Sammy Davis Jr.
