Waller Series for Fine Arts Outreach

John and Lou Waller

A gift by John and Lou Waller of Norman, Oklahoma, created the Waller Series for Fine Arts Outreach in the Weitzenhoffer Family College of Fine Arts at the University of Oklahoma. The endowment was announced July 2018.

The endowed fund supports annual on-site presentations – rotating between opera, dance, visual arts and musical theatre – for elementary school students at Norman Public Schools.

The announcement followed a successful performance funded by Waller during the 2018 spring semester. On Feb. 26, Norman Public Schools' third-grade students attended a performance at the Nancy O'Brian Center for the Performing Arts. OU Musical Theatre students presented an excerpt from their latest production, “Nice Work If You Can Get It.”  The Gershwin classic was condensed and slightly reimagined for a young audience.
