Pre-Columbian
Many of the earliest works held by the Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art are from the extensive Pre-Columbian collection, which includes objects made by the Casas Grande, Olmec, Maya, Nasca, and Inca people, as well as others. These objects were recovered in areas spanning Mexico to Peru, and many points between. The oldest objects are Olmec from 1150 B.C. to 550 B.C., but there are many objects which require continued research and refined information.
