Carrie Mitchell is a business owner and community volunteer. She and her husband own Sooner Carpet Cleaning and Restoration. Carrie primarily performs bookkeeping, employee and customer relations and advertising and marketing functions for the business. Since restoration is a large part of the business, she also supervises larger jobs related to water loss.
Prior to joining Sooner Carpet Cleaning full-time, Carrie was the Executive Director for Health for Friends, a not-for-profit healthcare clinic in Norman. She also was Director of Public Relations and Marketing for the Heartland Region of the American Cancer Society. One of her favorite jobs was just out of college when she moved to Washington D.C. and worked on the staff of U.S. House of Representative, Dave McCurdy. Carrie received a B.A. in Journalism from the University of Oklahoma with a minor in History. She was also a member of the Pride of Oklahoma marching band throughout college.
Currently, Carrie is serving on the Norman Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. She is a member of the Assistance League of Norman and several PTA’s since her three boys attend three different schools. She also chairs the NHS Band’s Big Band Dinner Dance and serves as Vice President of the Norman High Band Association. Carrie is also the chairman of the NHS Tiger Society. She enjoys throwing parties, volunteering and playing golf.
