Ashley Caballero

Ashley Caballero is a journalism instructor in the Gaylord College of Journalism and Mass Communication.  She received her master’s in Journalism from the University of Oklahoma and her bachelor’s in business communication from York College. Ashley was previously a news producer at KOCO 5 in Oklahoma City, where she covered many breaking news stories and severe weather events, as well as produced multiple longform specials. In addition to her duties at OU, she also currently works with the production company, Standing Bear, on documentary content. Their recent project is set to debut in 2022. 

Ashley first began working as an adjunct instructor in 2018 for Gaylord College. She teaches journalism courses with a focus in broadcast and is the Executive Producer for the student-led newscast, OU Nightly. She is currently a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists. Ashley and her husband, Victor, reside in Norman.
