Honors Mentorship Program

The Honors Mentorship Program helps incoming freshmen in the honors college adjust to university life, learn about campus activities in their relevant fields, and network with fellow honors students. Freshmen are matched with upperclassmen honors students based on majors and/or interests. Mentors meet with their mentees once every two weeks and are available to answer questions and provide guidance throughout the mentee's freshmen year. In addition, the program holds four program-wide events each semester in order to give mentors and mentees further opportunities to network across grade levels.

Hello Honors Freshmen,

Welcome to OU! We understand that many of you are unsure how to navigate college life, especially considering the partial online transition. Lucky for you, we're here to help! Our organization is dedicated to providing each honors freshman (YOU!) with an upperclassman mentor who can give you pointers on all things academic and extracurricular.

Looking for a study buddy or someone who can give you tips on taking online classes? Wondering what freshman mistakes to avoid or curious to know about student resources available to you? Needing someone to introduce you to campus-wide events or to help you get involved in student organizations? These are just some of the questions that our dedicated mentors will help you answer!

All you have to do is fill out our mentee application (see "Opportunities" section), and we'll pair you with a mentor by the end of September.

We can't wait to meet you all!

Juet Tan
Director | HMP
