The history of Ken’s Bakery, Inc. began over 50 years ago. The Daniels family history in the bakery business dates back over a century. At the inception of Ken’s Bakery, Ken specialized in pies and sweet rolls (along with log rolls, butter rolls and tea rolls). Ken’s business began with daily deliveries to local restaurants. In order to meet the new demands, Ken’s Bakery evolved from freshly baked goods delivered daily to restaurants, to frozen products sold through distributors and to grocery chains. In 1977, the corporate office of a large restaurant chain contacted Ken requesting five-pound cobblers, which launched Ken’s Bakery into national sales. Ken purchased a motor home and traveled to surrounding states marketing to restaurants, grocery store chains and military bases. Ken’s has been serving some of these customers for over 20 years.

Livesay Orchards is a family-operated orchard in Porter, Oklahoma. The first peach trees were planted on the land in the 1920s. Today, there are more than 140 acres of peach trees, making it the largest peach orchard in the state. The farm is diversified with 10 acres of apples, 30 acres of watermelons and cantaloupes, 30 acres of pumpkins, gourds, tomatoes and sweet corn, along with cattle and over 2,000 acres of field crops. About 60 percent of the peach crop is sold directly to the public at the market, with other produce and famous Porter Peach products. The rest are sold "pick-your-own" in the orchard or delivered to grocery stores and fruit stands within a 200-mile radius.

When the Sweis family came to Oklahoma from the heart of the Mediterranean, they wanted to show their hospitality by sharing the the foods that had become the center of their family’s lives.
