"The Humanities & the Environment"
In its inaugural year 2015-2016 the Humanities Forum hosted an exciting series of public programming events related to “The Humanities & the Environment,” the center’s first annual interdisciplinary theme. Five Forum Grants were awarded to OU faculty with research projects on the environmental humanities (see Forum Fellows). See the Forum's 2015-2016 Events page for further information about our public programming dedicated to environmental topics, including the Anthropocene Biosphere project with Erle Ellis (University of Maryland), and a symposium on energy humanities and nuclear disaster memory; and co-sponsorship of the the Environmental Studies degree program's Earth Month series of events. OU has a range of environmental degree programs, institutes, and initiatives as well as regular art exhibits related to the environment.
