#WeAre Campaign Neighborhood Table

The Neighborhood Table – a new event that focuses on finding common ground between all members of the University of Oklahoma community and creating connections with people across different backgrounds, races, sexual orientation, gender identities, abilities and more – is coming to the Norman Campus South Oval Monday, Oct. 21. The event, scheduled from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., will feature free food and portrait photos.

Hosted by the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, the Neighborhood Table is an event designed to bring the OU family together at one table to eat, get to know one another and share ideas about how to build a more diverse and inclusive culture at OU.

Teara Lander, director of campus and community engagement in the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, says, “This event will be the first of its kind at OU and sets the stage for more events that celebrate and promote conversation and connections across the OU family.”

As part of the event, students, faculty and staff are also invited to learn more about the #WeAre campaign and share their positive declarations about who “WE ARE” with portrait photos taken during the event.

“The #WeAre campaign is an opportunity to say who we are as a university both as individuals and as a community. This campaign incorporates the importance of culture and community building,” says Lander.
