OU Partners with United Way to Make a Difference Across the State

The need for assisting our fellow Oklahomans is greater than ever in 2020 as a result of COVID-19.

As we press forward, members of the OU community are stepping up to provide others with the help they need by donating to United Way.

The United Way of Norman supports more than 56,000 people in Norman and southern Cleveland County by funding 42 programs at 29 different agencies.

Mike Stice, dean of the Mewbourne College of Earth and Energy and OU United Way of Norman co-chair, has been involved with the United Way for over 25 years and has seen firsthand the impact of their efforts on Normanites.

“The needs in our community are enormous this year due to the impacts of the global pandemic,” Stice said. “As Sooners, we are so very blessed to have a family that cares for us. Extending that sense of family to the local Norman community is yet another way for us to share the excellence that the University of Oklahoma is known for.”
