OU-Tulsa Professor Explains the 2021 Presidential Impeachment

The U.S. House of Representatives’ impeachment vote on Jan. 13 was historic by a number of standards, raising many questions, including the most fundamental: How does impeachment work?

OU-Tulsa resident political expert Rodger A. Randle, professor in the OU-Tulsa Department of Human Relations and director of the Center for Studies in Democracy and Culture, answers some of the most common questions about the impeachment process.

“It will be quite peculiar,” Randle said. “We don’t have a historic precedent for impeaching someone and convicting them when they’re not in their post.”
