OU faculty, staff and students are making a difference in communities across Oklahoma by donating to United Way.

Learn how you can help by visiting the campus-specific information below.

The United Way of Norman supports more than 59,000 each year, including members of the OU family.

Ways You Can Help

  1. Make Your Pledge: Even $1 makes a difference! Here are three easy ways to give between now and Nov. 15 (payroll deductions are an option):
    1. e-Pledge: Follow the instructions from the personalized email you receive from unitedway@unitedway-norman.org with a link to the e-Pledge site.
    2. Phone: Call the United Way office at (405) 329-2025 and make your pledge by phone with the United Way of Norman team.
    3. Mail: Mail in your gift to 2424 Springer Dr., Ste 304, Norman, OK 73069.

  2. Invite the United Way of Norman to You: If your department is having an upcoming staff meeting and would be willing to have a United Way of Norman representative and/or agency member or client briefly stop by (in-person or virtual) to discuss the importance and impact of the campaign, email Kathy Holder at kholder@unitedway-norman.org.

  3. Get Your Department Involved: Having fun is often the best way to promote giving. Departments can get involved by hosting creative activities like a bake sale, potluck meal, chili cookoff, auction and more. If your department has an event coming up, email details to unitedwaycampaign@ou.edu to have your event featured on the OU United Way website.

The United Way campaign on the OU Health Sciences Center campus will be taking place from Nov. 15-30. This year’s fundraising will again be a joint effort across the Health Sciences Center and OU Health, with a goal to raise $120,000 for United Way of Central Oklahoma.

The United Way of Central Oklahoma is helping to build a resilient, healthy and inclusive community by rigorously investing in about 102 programs at 55 different partner agencies.

HSC’s traditional activities have been modified due to COVID-19. Upcoming events are listed below:

  • The Basket Auction: Get ready for virtual fun Nov. 16-18, hosted online by United Way of Central Oklahoma. Watch for more information coming soon.
  • Hot Dog Lunch: On Nov. 18, support the campaign with a hot dog lunch, available for purchase in the cafeterias at OU Health University of Oklahoma Medical Center, OU Health Edmond Medical Center and Oklahoma Children’s Hospital.

OU Health Sciences Center employees can donate by using a direct link that will be sent from United Way on Nov. 15.

The OU-Tulsa campus will hold their annual Tulsa Area United Way campaign the week of Oct. 18. Interim President Jim Sluss and OU-Tulsa United Way Campaign Coordinator Yvonne Osgood will share the importance of supporting our community through United Way in a video distributed campus-wide.

The campaign will be primarily virtual with opportunities to give through payroll deduction and an online auction.

Faculty, staff and students will also have the chance to give to this worthy cause at in-person events as well, including an adult tricycle race and a visit from Comfort Canines, hosted by Professor Paws.
