Center for Faculty Excellence
- I’m honored to serve as the Director of the Center for Faculty Excellence (CFE) at OU. CFE strives to support faculty success and well-being at all stages of faculty growth and development, by providing resources and skill development to help faculty enhance teaching, extend research and creative activities, engage in their communities, and foster leadership in an environment that encourages a culture of collegial support, inclusiveness, and excellence.
Teaching Evaluation Working Group (2019-present)
- The Teaching Evaluation Working Group (TEWG) is charged with assessing and improving course evaluations and the faculty teaching evaluation process to reduce biases and improve actionability, with the goal of improving teaching, learning, and equity. We recently developed a new Student Experience Survey (SES) that was piloted in spring 2021.

Notable Accomplishments
- Led the OU Norman Campus faculty senate through a challenging presidential transition.
- Advocated for transparent processes and robust shared governance.
- Co-led Faculty Senate efforts to encourage structural changes needed to improve inclusive excellence on campus, resulting in a 4-page resolution outlining specific measures to support systemic cultural change.
- Established award nomination and recipient data reporting and analysis practices, including sex, race, rank, and area of scholarship.
- Developed an ad hoc committee with the administration to advise the President regarding significant budget and programmatic changes in Academic Affairs.
Frequent Reviewer for NASA, NSF, Science, Geology, Geochimica et Cosmochimica Acta, Earth and Planetary Science Letters, Chemical Geology, American Mineralogist and Icarus.
