National Weather Festival

The National Weather Festival (NWF) is the largest event hosted by the National Weather Center, attracting over 4,000 guests annually. The NWF features many weather-related organizations, such as the National Weather Service, Oklahoma Mesonet, Storm Prediction Center, and broadcast meteorologists from local news channels.

The National Weather Festival is a fun and free event with educational activities for all ages. There will be lots to see, including helicopters, emergency vehicles, hourly weather balloon launches, and drone demonstrations by our research partners.

Clear Bag Policy

Please note that this event is under OU’s Clear Bag Policy!
Please adhere to this policy and do not bring large bags unless they are clear.
If you have questions about this policy, please contact NWC Security at 405-325-1157.

These two types of bags are the only bags permitted at the festival. No other types of bags will be permitted.

Clear Tote bags are limited to 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches. Anything larger is prohibited.

Small clutch purses are limited to six and a half inches by four and a half inches.

Parking and Maps

Parking

Free public parking is available in the Lloyd Noble Center (LNC) parking lot.
Shuttles will be running between the LNC and the NWC beginning at 9:45 am at 15-20 minute intervals with a break from 12:00-12:30 pm.
The last run will be at 2:45 pm.

Accessible parking will be available in the first row of the NWC parking lot.
