Take Your Career to the Next Level

The M.L.S. in Oil, Gas and Energy program is an online, 32-credit hour graduate degree that can be completed in 15 months. This program offers a competitive advantage to anyone in the energy industry that negotiates oil and gas contracts, deals with mineral rights, real estate transactions, or works closely with energy attorneys.

With more than 100 years of energy education history, and the expertise of its faculty, OU Law has long led the country in legal education related to oil, gas, and energy law.

 

OU Law is at the forefront in its offering of legal courses focused on energy and natural resources.  With many energy and natural resources companies headquartered in Oklahoma, OU Law sends a large number of graduates into energy-related fields and practices every year. OU Law prepares students to be leaders in energy and natural resources law and policy, assisting in the sustainable development of all forms of energy and natural resources in an environmentally responsible manner.

Academic Excellence

Students are organized into small start groups and take all their classes together. Since each student is actively working in the industry, students can share real-time experiences with one another which leads to a rich learning environment. Plus, OU Law staff work closely with all students to ensure success in the program.

The University of Oklahoma has been providing energy education for over 100 years. OU Law has strong expertise in energy and collaborates with energy faculty from the Price College of Business and the Mewbourne College of Earth and Energy. Each college has a strong graduate network within energy companies that our alumni can access.

This program has been created to provide practical legal knowledge for non-lawyers in the energy industry. Each class has been vetted by energy leaders to ensure its applicability to professionals in the industry.

The online M.L.S. and LL.M. programs are an investment in each student’s future, and OU makes every effort to see that each qualified candidate is able to attend. In-state tuition is $524.00 per credit hour, out-of-state tuition is $918.50 per credit hour. In addition, there are mandatory fees of $186 per credit hour and a once-a-semester fee of $101.50.

Program Details

The online M.L.S. and LL.M. are selective programs aimed to educate the leading legal experts and lawyers. To get started, follow these steps:

STEP THREE:

Provide your supplemental materials, including resume, personal statement, and undergraduate transcripts.

The admissions committee operates under a rolling admission process, and admissions may continue until two weeks before the start of classes. The committee strives to respond to all applicants within two weeks from the time a completed application is submitted.
