The OU Online M.A. in Global Affairs is a 33-credit-hour program designed to deliver an international perspective on global turbulence's political, economic, and social dimensions. Program Breakdown

The diplomacy lab practicum allows students to engage in real-world issues independently and in groups.

International Trip

The international trip is led by faculty with deep knowledge of the area, which provides experiential learning necessary for anyone interested in working globally. International trips are 8-10 days in length. Except for airfare and meals, the international trip cost is included in the program cost.

Diplomacy Lab

The diplomacy lab practicum aims to allow students to engage in real-world issues independently and in groups. The most recent internship focused on the Mediterranean refugee and migrant crisis, with students addressing the problem from a governmental or a non-governmental (NGO) approach. Both groups produced research in the form of briefs and memos. Additionally, the government group created a policy prescription, while the NGO created an action plan to address this serious issue.

How to Apply

Admission to the online M.A. in Global Affairs program is selective. Those interested in the program should have a competitive undergraduate GPA.

Additional admissions factors may include:

  • Work or service experience
  • Demonstrated leadership potential
  • Exceptional talents, skills, or trends
  • Academic and undergraduate school performance improvement

To apply, students must:

  • Complete the online application at https://gograd.ou.edu/apply/
  • Submit a current resume or CV
  • Provide official college transcripts from all institutions
  • Submit a personal statement
  • Valid TOEFL exam score report (for international students)

The admissions committee operates under a rolling admission process, and admissions may continue until two weeks before classes start. The committee strives to respond to all applicants within two weeks of submitting a completed application.

Tuition and fees for the program are $26,994 ($818 per credit hour). Books and additional materials are not included.

Once accepted into the program, students must submit a $350 nonrefundable deposit within two weeks. Deposits are applied toward tuition expenses and secure a student’s place in the upcoming class. There is no application fee for this degree.
