Jacey loves the relationships she has built and the community she has found since arriving in Oklahoma in 2018.

Taj Johnson, M.Ed.

Assistant Director, Orientation Programs

Taj Johnson, a Colorado native, currently serves as the Camp Crimson Coordinator. Prior to this role, he worked in TRIO SSS programs at the University of Central Oklahoma for 2 years as full-time professional and student worker.

Taj received his B.A. in Psychology from Langston University, where he played collegiate sports, and immersed himself in student leader organizations - most notably becoming a Langston Ambassador and serving as the Social Action chair of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Incorporated. Due to his undergraduate experiences with student affairs professionals, it inspired him to pursue a master's degree in Adult-Education Student Personnel. He went on to graduate and receive his M.Ed. from the University of Central Oklahoma in the summer of 2020. While in grad school, Taj played football and became an active member of the Black Male Iniative program, a mentoring program dedicated to serving African American students in higher education.

With a dedication to uplifting marginalized peoples of society and helping guide young people... Taj intends to continue to acquire knowledge and build influence to help students prosper and reach their dreams. In his free time, you can count on Taj to be hosting work-out classes, attending live poetry, or simply hanging out with friends. Taj has enjoyed the wonderful Norman community he's joined and looks forward to building upon that culture.

Derica is a two-time University of Oklahoma alumna. She received her B.A in Human Relations. During her undergraduate career, she was involved in various areas in the OU community that influenced her decision to pursue higher education. She received her M.Ed. in Adult and Higher Education in December 2022. During graduate school, Derica served as a NODA intern for New Maverick Orientation at the University of Texas at Arlington, where she found her love and passion for orientation.

During her free time, Derica enjoys watching college football, traveling, and exploring new food places.

Keshawn Wallace

Graduate Assistant, Orientation Programs

Keshawn Wallace has been involved in the OU community over the past four years, completing his B.A. in Psychology in May of 2022. He is now working towards a Master of Human Relations specializing in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

Keshawn has been involved in Camp Crimson for all of his undergraduate career as a camper coming into college and small group leader from 2019 to 2021. One thing camp gave Keshawn was the reassurance that OU would be home for the next four years and the passion for wanting others to make the same connection during their camp experience.

In his free time, Keshawn enjoys spending time with friends, playing The Sims, and a nice yoga session while the sun is setting.
