Students must have successfully completed the 10th or the 11th grade to be considered for Sooner Discovery.

Sooner Discovery stands out as a prestigious summer pre-college program for several reasons. Participating students are:

  • Linked with outstanding faculty, which prepares them for leadership and academic success in college
  • Able to explore a variety of majors, campus activities, and opportunities to learn how to best present themselves when applying for college and scholarships
  • Assisted in formulating college application essays and resumes by admissions counselors
  • Exposed to a college-level education at a comparatively low price

Sooner Discovery is a premiere program unlike any other in the region. We have developed our program to resemble other distinguished programs across the nation, so we can assure you that Sooner Discovery will be one of the best decisions for you and your future!

The cost differs for each student depending on where you live and what grade you have completed. Please visit the "Cost" tab to see the breakdown of Sooner Discovery pricing.

Yes. Students have the opportunity to apply for the Financial Assistance Scholarship, which is up to $750 in value. Additionally, Oklahoma high school counselors may nominate one student to receive a $500 scholarship.

Most credits are transferrable to other institutions, but it is up to the discretion of each institution to determine whether credit will be given.

Upon acceptance to Sooner Discovery you will receive information about paying for Sooner Discovery. You can pay online after the program has begun. 

Please note that the Sooner Discovery program fee may not be applied to the student's bursar bill until after the first day of the program, and payments will be due on June 25 of that year.

To officially cancel your registration for the program, please email soonerdiscovery@ou.edu with your request, name, and OU ID.

You can purchase your textbooks through the online OU bookstore. We suggest students purchase textbooks before the first day of classes.
