Campus Opportunities

 

OU Cousins:

President Boren founded this organization, in hopes of fostering friendships between United States Citizens with International Sooners. OU cousins is currently seeking adult Sooners to get involved. They are having difficulty pairing all of their older International students with younger U.S. citizens.

Campus Activities Council:

 

This organization is designed to provide students the opportunity to become involved in a wide range of campus activities. If you are interested in learning more about CAC, please contact lindsayrayburn@hotmail.com

 

CAC (Campus Activities Council) is the programming branch of UOSA (University of Oklahoma Student Association, our student government).  The Executive chair is an elected position.  The CAC Chair this year is Lindsay Rayburn (lindsayrayburn@hotmail.com).  There are more than 300 volunteer committee positions in  CAC and yet there are virtually no adult students in CAC.  Please pick up an  application in the Center for Student Life (OMU 370) and find out how you can  become involved in great programs like Homecoming, Sooner Scandals,   University Sing, Speaker's Bureau, etc.

 

 

Paid Internship Opportunities for Hispanic College Students:

 

* The HACU (Hispanic Association of Colleges & Universities) National Internship Program (HNIP) recruits college students for paid summer and semester-long internships at federal agencies and private corporations in Washington D.C. and througout the country.  For more information and an application, see their website:  www.hacu.net and click on HNIP link. Information on HACU internships will also be provided this Wednesday at 7p.m. November 1st at the SHPE meeting at the JIM THORPE MULTICULTURAL CENTER (corner of Elm and Brooks) . All students and all majors are encouraged to attend.

 

* The CONGRESSIONAL HISPANIC CAUCUS INSTITUTE (CHCI) Summer Internship program is an eight-week congressional internship, designed to heighten Hispanic Students' awareness of the U.S. Political System and enhance leadership skills.  Housing, roundtrip airfare and a $2000 stipend are provided.  For more information, see their website: www.chci.org or contact: Carmen Joge, Programs Director, CHCI, 504 C Street, NW,
