Those who do drive to campus will need to purchase a parking permit, which provides access to parking spaces within a short walk of where you work. Faculty/staff parking permits are available for $311 and are valid from August to August.
Where can I park?
Faculty/staff parking permit-holders are eligible to park in any lot designated for faculty/staff permits in addition to the many multipurpose lots on campus.
You also may park in any lots designated for commuters after 4 P.M.
Inoperable or raised gates do not negate the permit restrictions in designated faculty/staff areas during the hours of enforcement.
Where can I NOT park?
Faculty/staff parking permits are NOT valid in the following areas:
· North (Parrington) Oval prior to 5 p.m.
· Service vehicle areas south of Lindsey Street.
· Service vehicle areas north of Lindsey Street prior to 5 p.m. without a valid loading permit
· Any "No Parking" area.
· Visitor parking prior to 5 P.M.
· Housing, Priority Housing, Headington Hall
Permits are required to park on the University of Oklahoma Norman campus from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The responsibility for finding a legal parking space rests with the vehicle operator. Lack of space in a particular lot is not a valid excuse for violating parking regulations, and will not be considered as a valid basis for appeal. The vehicle operator must park only in those spaces or areas allocated and designated for the type of permit displayed on the vehicle.
Employees who have purchased permits may be due a credit on the unused portion if the permit is returned prior to its expiration date. Fees are pro-rated weekly.
All parking permit restrictions are applicable during exam weeks, enrollment periods and unscheduled class cancellations.
