Letter from the Director
Salma Morales, Director of Conferences
As the Director of Conferences for the JCPenney Leadership Program, I am pleased to invite you to the 2019 Women in Business Leadership Conference, “True Grit: Persevering in the Business World & in Life”. This year’s theme is inspired by the 1968 novel, “True Grit” by Charles Portis. This story teaches us that a person with true grit has passion and perseverance, regardless of the obstacles they may encounter. Although women are thriving in the business world, they still face challenges that are both work and life related. For this reason, I wanted this year’s conference to be an event of empowerment; a reminder that having grit will help you achieve anything.
I assure you that you will leave this event with confidence to overcome any difficulties you may be facing. Additionally, I hope this conference will motivate you to make a positive impact in the business world by doing your part to create modern & equitable opportunities for professional women.
