Kylie Harrison earned her bachelor's degree in Speech Communication from California State University, Chico (CSUC) in 2002, where she participated on the Forensics team. In 2002, the Cross Examination Debate Association recognized her as an Academic All-American, and in 2012, she was inducted into the California State University, Chico, Forensics Hall of Fame. After earning her master's degree in Communication with an emphasis in Persuasion from Pepperdine University in 2004, she was invited to stay on as the Assistant Director of Forensics and Visiting Professor of Communication, where she served for three years. While leaving the Golden State was difficult, she eagerly moved to Oklahoma in 2007 to begin her Ph.D. in Communication at the University of Oklahoma. She completed her doctoral studies in 2013. Along the way, she received the International Communication Association Graduate Teaching Award in 2010.

Kylie is grateful to the faculty who invested in her success and loves "paying it forward" by helping students master their presentation and writing skills. Her research focuses on persuasive campaigns and individual and organizational credibility. Before joining the Michael F. Price College of Business, she gained valuable academic assessment and accreditation experience while working and teaching at Mid-America Christian University. She also taught Interpersonal Communication and Introduction to Public Speaking at Oklahoma City Community College. When she is not working, Kylie enjoys playing soccer and baseball with her husband and young sons and visiting America's National Parks.
