Jay is a professor of Marketing & Supply Chain Management at the University of Oklahoma’s Michael F. Price College of Business. Prior to joining the University of Oklahoma, he was a Professor of Management Science and Moore Research Fellow at the University of South Carolina. Prior to that, he was a faculty member at the University of Oregon.

He received a Ph.D. in supply chain management from Michigan State University, an MBA from Central Michigan University; and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Bombay where he studied Mathematics and Computer Science.

Jayaram serves as a Departmental Editor of Journal of Operations Management. He also serves as an associate editor for many journals including Journal of Supply Chain Management, International Journal of Production Research and Journal of Business Logistics, to name a few. He has published in various supply chain management and business journals including Journal of International Business Studies, Decision Sciences Journal, Journal of Operations Management, Journal of Product Innovation Management, Journal of Supply Chain Management, Journal of Business Logistics, International Journal of Operations and Production Management, International Journal of Production Research and Supply Chain Management Review.

He has professional certifications as a CPSM (USA) and as a chartered accountant in India. He has business experience working as a consultant in India and as a finance executive in many multinational companies. He has supervised many applied company projects in the area of supply chain management. Some of these companies include Sonoco, Westinghouse Electric, Ingersoll Rand (Trane), Target, Sams Club and Palmetto hospital system.
