Experiential Learning

The Full-time MBA program is designed to offer many opportunities for experiential learning that enable and encourage students and executives to work side-by-side in solving real-world problems.

All students embark on a 2-week international experience to develop essential business skills required for success in a global economy. Due to the uncertainty of the ongoing pandemic and the impacts of quarantine rules when traveling internationally, the Global Business Experience may be held domestically with a focus on global businesses, cross-cultural experiences and visits to companies with international operations.

Regardless of trip location, the tuition and fees listed above do not include transportation costs and incidentals for the Global Business Experience trip. Students will be responsible for their flight, transportation, lodging, and other related travel expenses, which will vary widely depending on trip location. If the trip is international, the estimated additional expenses, including transportation, will not exceed $6,000. There are no additional tuition/fees associated with the Global Business Experience course, as they are already reflected in the tuition and fees for the program.

This coursework helps you develop the critical skills needed to identify, prepare for, and pursue a professional career after your MBA, focusing on real-world, practical aspects of the business arena. Topics include resume writing, job search and interviews, negotiation skills, business etiquette, career decisions, and project and career management.

This course applies the "Design Thinking" approach, which relies on rapid action followed by interaction and then reflection, to business consulting projects. It offers an immersive experience to students by using a hands-on, iterative approach to collaboratively solving real world business problems, and may include developing innovative products, processes and services.

Summer internships are an integral part of the MBA experience. The internship search is essentially a trial run for your full-time employment search in your second year. During first year of your MBA, expect to dedicate time researching industries and companies, building your professional networks, polishing your résumé, and honing your interview skills.

This course provides experiential learning in your area of specialization, enabling you to apply your academic knowledge in a tangible context. You will be matched with an internship in the Oklahoma City area related to your field of interest.
