Application to the Accelerated BBA + MS-MIT Program

Formal application is required for admission into the combined BBA/MS-MIT program.  Application can be made after a student completes 75 hours of undergraduate coursework toward their BBA degree, typically during the second semester of the junior year. Interested students are encouraged to apply as soon as possible after completing 75 hours toward the BBA. Accepted applicants are admitted the semester after completing 90 hours toward the BBA.

Admission Criteria

Applicants must have a minimum overall GPA of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale and an acceptable score on the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) to be admittable. As a guideline, applicants accepted into the program have an average GPA of 3.5 and an average GMAT score of approximately 600. If a GRE is submitted, verbal and quantitative scores should be 160 or higher. Scholarships and assistantships are awarded based primarily on these criteria.

Current OU MIS majors applying into the accelerated program will be allowed to waive the GMAT/GRE under the following conditions:

  1. No ā€˜Cā€™ grades in any MIS courses completed at the time of application.
  2. Average GPA of 3.33 minimum

In extraordinary circumstances, the admissions committee may consider waiving the GRE/GMAT requirement for students in non-MIS majors. Applicants who wish to be considered should submit the online MS-MIT GRE/GMAT Waiver Request Form at some point during the application process. Such requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis.  Note that completion of a waiver request does not guarantee the examination will be waived.

You may still apply to the  BBA/MS MIT if you do not meet the criteria for waiving the GMAT exam.  (The range of GMAT scores for BBA/MS MIT students taking the exam who are admitted to the program ranges from 550 to 720 with 620 as the average score).

Students should submit the following materials by the appropriate application deadline:
