Undergraduate Student Team at Tri-State Competition

Undergraduate students from the Price College of Business at the University of Oklahoma placed second at the Donald W. Reynolds Tri-State Collegiate Business Plan Competition in Las Vegas, Nevada May 28.

The team members – Lauren Abston, Ali Davis, Quincy Tresemer, Cici Zhou and Caitlin Zuerker – won $20,000 for their concept, Raw, which builds a toxin-free cosmetic certification. After winning the Oklahoma Governor’s Cup competition in April, Raw competed against teams that placed in the top two in their respective Governor’s Cup competitions in Arkansas and Nevada.

Team leader Ali Davis also won the elevator pitch competition in the amount of $2,000.

“The recent honors achieved at the Governor’s Cup showcase the talent and vision our students possess to become the future business leaders we need to ensure the enduring global competitiveness of Oklahoma and the nation,” said Daniel Pullin, dean and Fred E. Brown Chair of Price College. “Our students help Price College serve as an economic engine for the state as they work arm-in-arm with our faculty, alumni and corporate supporters to generate business insights into the biggest business issues of our time.”

Price College’s Center for Entrepreneurship undergraduate program is ranked in the top five by The Princeton Review and Entrepreneur Magazine. The college’s MBA Program is one of Bloomberg Businessweek’s Best Business Schools, while the International Business Program is ranked in the U.S. News & World Report’s top 25, and its Supply Chain Management program is among the top 20 in the nation as determined by Gartner. The John T. Steed School of Accounting is ranked in the top 10 for both the undergraduate and graduate programs by Public Accounting Report for accounting schools with 15 or fewer faculty.
