Robert L. Reynolds, president and chief executive officer of Putnam Investments, is the featured speaker in an upcoming lecture and dinner being offered to the public on Friday, Oct. 18.

Reynolds’ lecture, From Here to Security: A Discussion of Retirement Security in the U.S., will be preceded by a reception at 5:30 p.m. Dinner is scheduled for 6 p.m., followed by Reynolds’ presentation at 6:45 p.m. The event will be held at the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History, 2401 Chautauqua Ave., in Norman.

The presentation and meal are complimentary to the public with a reservation, which is available online at price.ou.edu/obacfs or by phone at (405) 325-5591 through Sunday, Oct. 13. The event is hosted by the Oklahoma Bankers Chair in Finance and the Center for Financial Studies at the University of Oklahoma’s Michael F. Price College of Business.

“With declining, even negative, interest rates seriously threatening defined benefit plans like our own pensions, and potential cuts to Social Security in our future, retirement security is a red-hot topic, both personally and from a business and research standpoint,” said Chitru Fernando, the Rainbolt Chair and Professor of Finance at the Price College of Business. “We hope those worried about being able to retire with financial security will be sure to sign up for the event. Robert Reynolds is widely considered to be the nation’s foremost expert on retirement security.”

Fernando also is the director of the Division of Finance and director of the Center for Financial Studies.

Reynolds is president and CEO of Putnam Investments, president of Putnam Funds, and a member of Putnam’s operating committee.
