Toby Summers, managing director at Ernst & Young LLP, will discuss digitization and analytics in the energy industry on the April 28 episode of the University of Oklahoma Energy Institute’s webcast.

Summers is slated to discuss topics such as energy companies’ expected levels of spending and investment in data analytics; where machine learning and AI investments are paying off in the sector; and coming technology advancements.

Launched in 2020, “The Future of Energy” webcast series features guest speakers and covers topics in the energy sector such as hydrocarbons, renewables and the changing energy landscape. The complimentary episodes are available online at price.ou.edu/energywebcast.

In the newest episode, Summers will speak with moderator Matthew Jensen, who is a Presidential Associate Professor of Management Information Systems and co-director of the Center for Applied Social Research at the University of Oklahoma. He is also an instructor in OU’s Executive MBA in Energy program.

As part of the Michael F. Price College of Business, the Energy Institute is home to the Executive MBA in Energy program. The institute provides a community of practitioners and academics to advance innovative and sustainable solutions to the critical energy challenges facing the nation and, more broadly, the global community through education, research and outreach.
