Price MBP Students Visit Companies, Historic Sites in Tulsa

Thirty-two Price Multicultural Business Program (MBP) students visited Williams Companies in Tulsa and met with a career panel that included recent alumni Austin Welch, and the company’s chief human resource officer and chief financial officer. One of the Williams representatives commended the Price students saying they “asked great questions, were engaged and that it was a great visit.” Students had the opportunity to answer questions about Williams and were well prepared – the winner received a pair of AirPod Pros.

Afterward, students explored the history of Tulsa’s historic Greenwood District during a visit to the Greenwood Rising history center. The tour given by Director Phil Armstrong brought to life the memories of the past and the visions of success for the future. The tour ended with a group discussion about the importance of racial reconciliation and restorative justice.

Students also had the opportunity to see an exhibit artifact signed by Price’s own Breea Clark, director of the JCPenney Leadership Center. It was a proclamation related to Norman’s former status as a “sundown town.” The day ended with a picnic-style dinner in the historic Greenwood District – southern comfort food from Wanda J’s.
