The CASH scholarship application does not qualify you for study abroad scholarships. You will need to fill out the applications in the links above to qualify for study abroad scholarships.

Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship

The Gilman International Scholarship Program offers a competition for awards for undergraduate study abroad. This scholarship provides awards for US undergraduate students at a 2-year or 4-year college or university to participate in study abroad programs worldwide. Sponsored by the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, this program requires both US citizenship as well as being a current recipient of a Federal Pell Grant. If you are eligible and interested in this program, please contact a Study Abroad Advisor in the Office of Education Abroad.

Other OU and National Scholarships

Students who receive an aid package from financial aid services from federal and state sources may be eligible to apply this aid toward a study abroad program. Support from financial aid varies based on a number of factors such as remaining aid eligibility, program costs, length of stay and type of program. The Financial Aid Services office determines which study abroad programs are approved for financial aid. There are a few steps that all degree-seeking OU students must follow to determine aid eligibility for an approved study abroad program:

1.       Have a current FAFSA on file with OU Financial Aid Services. The OU code is 003184.

2.       Complete and submit the hard copy study abroad form provided by Financial Aid Services to Financial Aid Services. This form must be submitted directly to Financial Aid Services in Buchanan Hall.

3.       Submit all required materials listed on the Financial Aid Services study abroad form by the deadline. Financial Aid Services Deadline for summer study abroad is April 1.

Note: If you want to apply for financial aid for the summer study abroad programs, you must also complete the Summer Online Financial Aid Application on the OU Financial Aid Services website. Type summer application in the Ask the Sooners search box to access the online summer application. Please visit the Financial Aid Services website and use the Ask the Sooners search function for more information about applying financial aid to study abroad programs.
