Captain Chase King, USMC

Captain King was born in Okinawa, Japan and was raised in Quantico, Virginia.  Upon graduation from high school, he joined the NROTC unit at the University of Oklahoma.  He was commissioned a Second Lieutenant upon graduation with a degree in International Security Studies in May of 2015.

Following The Basic School and Logistics Officer Course, he was assigned to 9th Engineer Support Battalion as the Motor Transport Platoon Commander. During this period, Captain King deployed twice to the Republic of South Korea; he participated in Winter Work Horse 16 and Korean Marine Exchange Program 17-8.

In April of 2017, Captain King was assigned as the Maintenance Management Officer.  He served as the battalion’s lead for the bi-annual Field Supply and Maintenance Analysis Office inspection.  Captain King returned to the Motor Transport Platoon in October 2017 and served in that billet until executing orders to 1st Marine Raider Support Battalion.

Captain King served as the officer in charge (OIC) of Logistics Support Team Alpha (LST-A) in Marine Special Operations Company Alpha (MSOC A) beginning in April 2018.  During his pre-deployment training pipeline, Captain King participated in Mountain Training Exercise 5-18 in Bridgeport, CA. In January of 2019, Captain King deployed in support of OPERATION PACIFIC EAGLE - Philippines as Special Operations Task Force 511.2’s S4 Officer.

Following his deployment, Captain King assumed the billet of Assistant Operations Officer at 1st Marine Raider Support Battalion. He assisted in the training pipeline development and deployment certification of four Logistics, Communications and Intelligence teams in order to deploy in support of special operations.

In April of 2021 Capt King reported to the University of Oklahoma NROTC unit as the Marine Officer Instructor and Assistant Professor of Naval Science. He teaches Introduction to Naval Science, Evolution of Warfare and Maneuver Warfare.

Captain King’s personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with gold star in lieu of 2nd award.
