Welcome to SEDS

Hi there! We at OU-SEDS would like to welcome you to another exciting school year and to introduce our new organization. SEDS stands for Students for the Exploration and Development of Space. OU-SEDS (a subset of SEDS-USA) originated in the fall of the 1996-97 school year. It is the first of its kind in Oklahoma and is promising to be an exciting and historic organization!

All OU-SEDS members are students and, as a group, provide a rare opportunity for young people to directly affect important space affairs. By participating ($5/school year membership fee), you can help the space industry as well as develop leadership skills and organizational abilities, interact with space professionals and explore new career opportunities.

Mission Statement

SEDS is an independent student-based organization which promotes the exploration and development of space. SEDS pursues this mission by educating people about the benefits of space, by supporting a network of interested students, by providing an opportunity for members to develop their leadership skills, and by inspiring people through our involvement in space-related projects. SEDS believes in space-faring civilization, and that focusing the enthusiasm of young people is key to our future in space.
