    3. Registration
    4. Cost $5 to register

      will have a registration packet

Can we expect at least 30 entrants (hope to get at least 50)

More if we contact HS teachers & they make it required for their classes.

      Registration Packet contents:

      Guidelines (Rules & Regulations)

      Contact Info Sheet

General Tips and Advice sheet for building Sheet

    5. Rules & Regs.
    6. No engines above a C engine

Rocket will have to be inspected at some kind of registration booth, must be approved before

    7. launching
    8. Some kind of pre-registration

Actual registration application should be due at least a week before event.

May have cheaper registration costs for early registration, and double the cost for "same-day"

    9. registration.
    10. Hope to send the packets to school teachers some time in the summer. (Need to find out when HS starts, might have to move the event time if they start sig. later than us)

May want to focus on the campus contest for the fall-and wait for the Spring to really focus on the school students.

    11. Launching
    12. -A SEDS appointed judge may have to be the only one to actually do the launching,

      for risk management purposes ?

      • Should we build our own launch pad, or get an Estes kit ?
      • Should we have more than one pad, or not ?
      • Height will be calculated by triangulation, may have to write a program to calculate it and punch it in right there.
      1. Application
      2. Will have name, number, address, phone, sign away on it.

      3. Costs
      4. 30*$5 = $150, so is $50 prize too much ?

if 50*5 = $250, so we could have several prizes & stuff

      5. Prizes

      Might have different divisions/classes

Single stage vs. Multi stage classes

      Homemade vs. Estes kit classes

Might have other awards for design creativity/originality etc.

    13. MISC
    14. Need to see about legal stuff, insurance, liability

May want to have a "show" beforehand from Amateur Rocketes Org.

Look into buying Estes kits wholesale to resell to students

Look into contacting papers to report on it, press releases, etc.

Hopefully we can contact news/media for our own advertising purposes

We might want to have snacks/concessions during the launching.

------ End of brainstorming, the rest of the discussion will go to the Committee, who will find

out this info. and make decisions, draw up, and report back to SEDS at Gen. Mtg.

  9. Announcements:

-Lost in Space premieres this weekend. Martin Garcia can let people in free for buying popcorn if they go Tuesday night - contact him later.

    - Phillip passed out his pictures from Spring Break in St. Thomas

    - Need to organize to have more flyers and get more publicity out there to get more members. We will preprint flyers for the next mtg, to pass out at the meeting to the members.

-Checking e-mail & website for info. Tuesdays is a good bet, since we have officer mtgs. Monday
