What exactly is CHI ALPHA CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP?
We're glad you asked! We are a group of students who
have banded together in the name of Jesus Christ. We are committed
to "Lifting Up the Lifestyle of Christ on Campus."
Who can join CHI ALPHA?
ANYONE! Don't let the name fool you. We're not a fraternity
or a sorority. We don't have any official membership dues or forms
you have to fill out in triplicate. We just ask that you come hang
out with us.
So, if you're not a fraternity or sorority, why have
a Greek name?
We pattern our name after the Greek, but for different
reasons. When Christ was here on earth, he didn't call people to
be Christians; he called them to be his disciples and sent them
out to the world as a witness. Christou Apostoloi is Greek
for Christ's ambassadors or sent ones. Because we have a heart that
wants to reach out to others, we've taken the first letters of these
words as our name.
What is your fellowship based on?
First off, we are based on the Bible and following Christ.
In addition, we have 5 concepts that we feel really sums up what
we're all about.
1. Prayer -- Asking God for help (for
instance, when you have an important test)
2. Discipleship -- Doing what Jesus would do (like
actually going to class)
3. Fellowship -- Helping each other (think
study partner)
4. Worship -- Thanking God for stuff (especially
after passing that difficult class)
5. Witness -- Transforming the world (using
what you've learned to help others)
CHI ALPHA sounds really cool. How can I get involved?
We invite you to come by and see for yourself what all
of us are so excited about. We meet every Tuesday night, 8:00 PM
at ROME XII (see directions below). For more information, please
