The African American Programs & Services annual scholarship pageant is held to help select representatives of the Black OU Community. Contestants compete in several categories including- formal wear, athletic wear, interviews, on stage questions, and talent. During the interview & on stage portions of the pageant, contestants are expected to introduce and describe a platform that they will implement throughout their platform if chosen to serve as Miss or Mister Black OU. Therefore, the interview and on stage question portion of the pageant are weighed the most by judges. The pageant occurs annually during Black History Month, and selected contestants will serve as Miss and Mister Black OU for an academic school year.
