MCAT Assist Services
MCAT Assist provides pre-medical students with the following:
- MCAT Review Books – A crucial part of MCAT preparation is thorough review of MCAT Review Books Sets produced by various commercial exam preparation companies. These review book sets are comprehensive resources which provide both content review and practice problems divided by subject and exam section. Unfortunately, these review book sets often cost hundreds of dollars and represent a significant financial obstacle for many students. Several OUSCM students have graciously donated their own review book sets to MCAT Assist so that participants may borrow complete review book sets for free.
***Book sets are expected to be returned promptly following completion of the MCAT***
- 1-on-1 Medical Student Mentorship – For many premedical students, the MCAT is the most rigorous exam they have ever had to prepare for. Previously complete college coursework and comprehensive review materials are usually not enough to score well. Mentorship from current medical students can help throughout the entire MCAT prep timeline. Many current OUSCM students, having conquered the MCAT themselves, are eager to provide guidance, tips, tricks, and mentorship. MCAT Assist participants will communicate with their medical student mentors through email, text, zoom, and possibly in-person meetings if appropriate for both parties involved.
- COMING SOON – Free MCAT Practice Exams proctored on OUSCM Campus: One of the most challenging aspects of MCAT prep is properly evaluating your readiness and progress through MCAT practice exams. Simulating the testing environment which students will experience on their test day is very hard. Understanding performance will be influenced by the formal testing environment in a unfamiliar testing location is vital to scoring well on test day. Through the assistance of OU-Tulsa and OUSCM, it is our program’s hope to host practice exam days to allow participants the opportunity to complete a practice exam in simulated test-day environment. Students will need to purchase access to a MCAT practice exam prior to practice exam days.
