OU-TU School of Community Medicine Undergraduate Summer Internship 2021

The OU-TU School of Community Medicine located in Tulsa, Oklahoma, is offering a Summer Undergraduate Internship again for 2021. The Internship will give participants an opportunity to experience community medicine through lectures, experiential learning, clinical shadowing, research projects, site visits, High School student mentoring and interaction with current medical students, faculty and staff. 
  
The Undergraduate Experience is 6 week full time internship beginning on June 4, 2021 and ending on July 16, 2021.  Interns who successfully complete the program will receive a $750 cash award to be used for future educational expenses (at OU or other institutions).  
 
The OU-TU SCM Summer Undergraduate Internship Program is taking applications from current undergraduate students who will have completed at least their freshman year of college.  

Applications for the 2021 OU-TU SCM Undergraduate Summer Internship are closed. Please apply next year starting January 2022. 

1. Please complete the online application and submit a resume/CV directly to the OU-TU SCM Student Services office at tulsascm@ouhsc.edu. When submitting your resume/CV please make sure the file is in either a MS Word or PDF document file format. The subject line for submission of the resume/CV should read as follows: "Last name, First name - Resume - Summer Internship" OR "Last name, First name - CV - Summer Internship". 

  • Once you begin the online application you will not be able to restart.
    • You will need the name, title, department, university and phone number for the individual writing your recommendation letter.
  • Essay - Please submit an essay (300 words or fewer) that explains your interest in community medicine and what you would like to get out of the program.  Your personal statement should include answers to the following questions. (We suggest you type your essay in Microsoft Word or another application and paste it into the application). 
    • 1. How is community an important part of your life?
    • 2. What talents or strengths would you bring to the program?

2. Request a letter of recommendation from a faculty member and have the faculty member submit your letter of recommendation to our office at tulsascm@ouhsc.edu. The subject line for submission of the letter of recommendation should read as follows: "Last name, First name - LOR - Summer Internship".
