About Monica Henning

Dr. Monica Henning attended the University of Oklahoma School of Community Medicine (OUSCM) for medical school. She completed her OB/GYN residency at OUSCM, where she received the Crimson Apple Teaching Award in her last year. Following a few years in private practice in Oregon, Dr. Henning returned to Tulsa in 2013 to join the OB/GYN faculty. She is excited to be back home and teaching at OU including as a faculty for Focus Forward Oklahoma—a joint initiative with Oklahoma HealthCare Authority (State Medicaid office), OU and OSU Health Sciences Centers. She is also the Student Clerkship Director, in charge of medical and PA students’ education during their OB/GYN clinical rotations. She has been nominated for the Aesculapian Award in teaching and has won other teaching awards. Her areas of interest include contraception, human papillomavirus (HPV), telemedicine, and training the next generation of physicians and OB/Gyns. Dr. Henning is board certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology and holds the George Kaiser Family Foundation Professorship in Community Medicine.
