A virtual open house was held for URiM potential applicants to ask any questions they have about our great Residency programs before ERAS 2023 opens. The Open House was held on Thursday, August 31, 2023, from 6:00 pm-7:00 pm. There were a total of 81 participants in the virtual meeting: 65 potential applicants, 6 Program Directors, 3 Faculty members, 5 Residents, and 2 Staff members. Thanks to the OU-Tulsa DEI and Medical Education Pathways office for putting the open house together. It was a huge success.
RESIDENT PROGRAM COORDINATOR RETREAT
The GME Office is grateful to our amazing residency program coordinators and showed our appreciation by treating them to a day of fun on Friday, September 15th. We had brunch at Neighborhood Jam and then a charcuterie lesson with Tulsa's very own Charcuteray. Coordinators include Melisa Garner - Emergency Medicine, Keli Bridgewater - Sports Fellowship, Kimberly Johnson - Internal Medicine, Carole Hammell - Nephrology Fellowship, Melissa Ruff - OBGYN, Jenna Tow - Pediatrics, Sheryl Hayes - Child Abuse Fellowship, Rhonda Wallace - Psychiatry, Jennifer Austin - Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship, Juli Sensintaffar - Surgery, and Cierra Gleason - Vascular Fellowship. Renda Chubb - Family Medicine was unable to attend.

General Surgery PGY4, Jordan Williams, MD presenting an E-poster at the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES) conference in Montreal Canada on March 29-April 1, 2023. Other resident authors on the poster included Jessica Heard, MD, Gabriel Bolender, MD (IM PGY2), and Stephen Phillippe, MD.
