How to Become a Resident

We aim to train highly qualified, community-focused physicians for our region and state. We recruit residents likely to succeed in our residency programs and whose academic records, including licensure examinations and/or class rank, demonstrate success and predict attainment of specialty certification following residency.

PGY-1 Applicants must apply through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) www.aamc.org/students/medstudents/eras/. The following documents are required and can be submitted through ERAS:

  • Personal statement
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • MyERAS Application Form
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • Medical school transcript
  • Medical school performance evaluation (Dean's letter)
  • USMLE or COMLEX transcript
  • Photograph
  • Current ECFMG status report (for international medical graduates only)
