Pre-Health and Pre-Medical Professions Advising


University College also advises pre-health major students seeking to enter professional health fields including communication sciences and disorders, dental hygiene, nursing, nutritional sciences, occupational therapy, pharmacy, physical therapy, sonography, nuclear medicine, radiation therapy, and radiography. The assistance of an advisor is especially important to the pre-health profession student who wants to complete his/her admission requirements while maintaining a competitive grade point average for admission to the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center (HSC).

Those interested in medical, podiatric, dental, optometry or physicians assistant graduate career programs can be advised in Cate 1, rooms 415-416 by the Pre-med Advisors. They operate on a by-appointment basis Monday-Friday and offer a breadth of information that is helpful when considering these career fields. Student can book appointments at iAdvise.ou.edu.

An Afternoon with OUHSC is an event hosted by HSC Student Affairs for prospective students interested in an OU Health Sciences program. The events are hosted at various institutions across Oklahoma. An Afternoon with OUHSC is an opportunity for students to meet one-on-one with representatives from any of the seven academic colleges with OU Health Sciences. Students can ask questions about admissions, have transcripts evaluated, and find out about student life or general information regarding HSC’s academic programs and campus.
