University College Virtual Academic Support Workshops

University College has developed a series of virtual programming to help connect students in online only classes and/or in self-isolation to academic staff, peers and campus resources. These interactive online sessions are designed to help students navigate the online environment as well as feel more connected to the university and to other students.

This series will include 4 virtual sessions on a variety of topics related to stress, resources, online learning, snf time management. Each session will be 45-50 minutes.

Organizing your Academic Life: Moving from Overwhelmed to Confident

Overwhelmed by your to-do list? Falling behind in your classes? Not sure where to start to get back on track? In this session, we will talk about how to prioritize and organize your academic work, manage your time, address procrastination, and stay motivated.  

Staying Academically Connected: Online Does Not Mean Alone

Building meaningful connections is a beneficial component to successfully navigating online learning. This session will help you identify strategies to make and maintain connections to staff, professors, and your peers in ways that can help support your emotional wellbeing and your academic progress while you are online.

Strategies for Online Learning

Online learning includes so much more than just learning course content. In this session, we'll discuss creating a space and schedule conducive to online classes and review some of the technology platforms you may need to use in your classes.

Stress: Causes, Symptoms, and Coping

In this session, we will discuss stress—the common elements of stressors, the ways that stress manifests in our biology and psychology, and different ways of mitigating stress through coping.
